SILICA SAND DEPOSIT

Possible Find At Oxford

Two men looking for lime deposits on their farm rear Oxford found a seam of what they believe is silica sand. Testing of the sand, found in January, is already going on. but large-scale tests will have to be carried out. The sand was found by Mr N. C. Feary and his father. Mr H. Feary, or a property they own at View Hill.

Mr N. C Feary said yesterday that he and hi» father started to open up the scam with a bulldctter. but wet weather stopped work.

"This is the wrong time of the year to be doing It. so we will wait until September or October before we start again.” he said

"Some of the people we have been dealing with want larger-scale tests, but they are already doing some testing. he added.

Silica sand is used mainly tn the manufacture of glass.
