DAKOTAS FROM AUSTRALIA
R.A.A.F. Navigation
Exercise
Three Dakota aircraft of the Royal Australian Air Force will arrive at Wigram on May 29 as part of an annual navigation exercise. The aircraft and men will spend three days at Wigram and then will return to Australia on May 31, when three more Dakotas will arrive at Wigram.
In other years the Royal Australian Air Force has flown Lincoln bombers on the navigation exercise. This will be the first time Dakotas will be used.
The Royal New Zealand Air Force takes no part in the exercise except to provide accommodation for the crews and to refuel and service the aircraft.
