Week’s Trading Opens On Brisk Note
The weeks trading on New' Zealand stock exchanges opened yesterday on a brisk note. Rises exceeded falls by two to one . for New Zealand issues, and by three to one for Australian issues. .. „. Th . e sharpest rise of the day was recorded by LC.I.A.N.Z., Is up at ( _s 6d. L. J. Hooker and Waltons also rose sharply. Kauri Timber fell further to 12s 3d. National Electrical improved further to sell at 495. N.Z. Insurance and South British Insurance were both firmer again. Dominion Breweries and New Zealand Breweries made minor gains. N.Z. Farmers’ Co-operative A preference were again weaker, at 18s Id. Fletcher debentures and notes and J. Wattie Canneries were also weaker.
