11 Canterbury Players
The Canterbury Rugby League’s board of control last evening approved the nomination of the following 11 players for the national coaching school to be held in Christchurch from June 13 to June 24:
A. Smith (full-back). R. Turton (three-quarters) A. Amer (three-quarters). J Band <fiveeighths i, R. Carey (threequarters). R. Pounsford (halfback or five-eighths*. J. Fisher (second row or prop). M Diggs • hooker). K. Pearce (prop). E Tavendale (second row). M. Mohi (second row). The director of the national coaching school (Mr T F. McKenzie) advised of the schedule arranged for the school. It is: Tuesday. June 13 might): West Coast players arrive Wednesday. June 14 (morning): Arrival of North Island. Canterbury and Otago players. Afternoon: Match between two school teams.
Thursday, June 15 (morning and afternoon): Training Friday. June 16 (morning and afternoon): Trkming. Saturday, June 17 (morning): Training. Afternoon: Probable match between school teams. Sunday. June 16 (afternoon): Two matches against Canterbury teams. Monday. June 19 (morning and afternoon): Training. Tuesday. June 20 (morning): Training. Afternoon: Final trial for selection of school team to play Australia. Evening: Players not required for school team return to their homes.
Wednesday. June 21. and Thursday. June 22: School team trains.
Friday, June 23: Probably free. Saturday. June 24: School team v. Australia.
AUSTRALIANS’ ITINERARY
The itinerary for this season’s tour of New Zealand by the Australian team was received by the board of control of the Canterbury Rugby League last evening in minutes of the council of the New Zealand League. It is:— June 17, v. North Island Maoris, at Rotorua: June 21, v. Wellington, at Wellington; June 24. v. New Zealand training school team, at Christchurch; June 25. v. West Coa»t. at Greymouth: June 28. v. Taranaki. at Hawera; July 1. First Test, at Auckland; July 5. v. Waikato, at Huntly; Jaly 8. Second Test, at Auckland; July 10. v. Auckland, at Auckland.
