Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred in the Tasman Sea extends on io New Zealand and a south to south-westerly airstream covers the country; a cold front is moving eastwards across the south-west Tasman.

Forecast; — Marlborough.—Moderate to fresh southerly winds; partly cloudy with cool temperatures. Outlook: partly cloudy. Nelson, Buller and Westland.—South-westerly winds, fresh at times in Nelson but light to moderate elsewhere; partly cloudy with cool temperatures. Outlook: showers in Westland, elsewhere partly cloudy.

Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh south-west winds; scattered showers at first, mainly near the coast but gradually becoming fine; temperatures cool. Outlook: fine.
