The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington and Metropolitan of New Zealand the Most Rev. Dr. P. T. B. McKeefry. will leave New Zealand at the end of next week for Rome to attend a meeting next month of the central commission for the second Vatican Ecumenical Council in Rome in 1962. (PA.>
Lieutenant-Colonel R. H Griggs. Director of Army Recruiting. will arrive in Christchurch tomorrow for talks with military authorities. It will be his first offileial visit to Christchurch since his appointment last January. Dr. J. Taylor, a woman scientist, aged 26. arrived vesterday in the Gothic from Southampton for a stay of one year in New Zealand. She is here on a National Research Fellowship offered by the New Zealand Government. and will study in ! Christchurch cytology (cell ; formations* and genetics.— ! 'P.A *
Mr C F Billcliff has been promoted senior lecturer ;n| charge of the department of education and principles and practices of teaching at the Christchurch Teachers’ College. He succeeds Mr B. C. Penney, who has retired.
