FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A ridge of high pressure extends from the Tasman Sea across the North Island. A disturbed westerly airstream covers the South Tasman Sea and the south of the South Island. Forecast:— Nelson.—South-westerly winds fresh at times; fine with moderate temperatures. Outlook: fine. Marlborough except the Kaikoura coast.— Moderate north to north-west winds developing; fine with moderate temperatures. Outlook: fine. Canterbury and the Kaikoura coast.—Moderate variable winds, north-easterlies about the coast: fine with moderate temperatures. Outlook: fine. Buller and Westland.—Moderate west to southwest winds; changeable with occasional brief showers and fine intervals: temperatures moderate. Outlook: occasional showers.
