Automatic Discharge Of Bulk Cement
(N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 18. Fully automatic unloading of bulk cement cargoes from ships will begin in Auckland next month. Similar installations will be built later at Napier, Gisborne, and Tauranga. The Auckland waterfront’s western area already bas a new look with three cement silos dominating the skyline. Another three will be built The provision of these facilities at the four ports will cost Wilsons Portland Cement Company £2.000.000 The company's new cement tanker. John Wilson, due at Auckland in midJune, will be able to pump 280 tons of cement an hour into the silos by compressed air.
