Burwood Park Improvements

Improvements were being made to Burwood Park, the reserves committee reported to the City Council last evening.

During the summer there had been discussion on the provision of a more suitable surface together with a cricket pitch suitable for senior cricket in the district. It was agreed that most of the work would be done during the autumn and that at the same time there could be adjustments to the existing set-out of winter sports fields and some redevelopment work along the boundary of the Burwood Training Centre to provide another winter sports field. Five hundred yards of good top soil had been spread over the area, a full-sized cricket table excavated and reticulated with water, the committee said.
