Accord In Laos

The Royal Laotian Government and rebel delegates reached a surprise compromise agreement at Ban Na Mone today on principles of forming a coalition Government and a joint military committee to help police the cease-fire, the Associated Press reported. It was the first important agreement since formal talks opened on Sunday. It could pave the way for sending one unified delegation to the 14nation conference in Geneva, A.P. said.
Light Planes Crash.—Two light aircraft collided over open country on the outskirts of Troy late yesterday. The two occupants of one plane were killed.—(Troy, New York), May 17.
U.N. Men Leave Samoa.— The United Nations mission which supervised the plebiscite in Western Samoa left yesterday by flying boat. The plebiscite commissioner had earlier presented a United Nations flag to Dr. N. Rifai, the Samoan prime Minister.
