Escape From Court

(N.Z Prtu Aooetatton) AUCKLAND, May 17. Auckland police searched the city tonight for a 17-year-old seaman who escaped from custody at the Magistrate’s Court building late In the afternoon. He smashed a louvre window In making his escape after being given permission by his guard to get a drink of water. He is Dennis Charles Roe. 6ft 2Jin in height, with dark hair and a fresh complexion. At the time of his escape he was wearing a grey lumber jacket, white shirt and blue denim trousers. Roe was arrested in-Auck-land last Saturday and charged with deserting from hi* ship at Lyttelton on April 18. Before hl* escape he was remanded to appear in Court again on Friday.
