FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A ridge of high pressure is moving on to New Zealand from the west but a cold front moving across the South Tasman Sea should reach the south-west of the South Island by the afternoon. Forecast:— Marlborough.—Moderate north-west winds developing; fine with moderate temperatures. Outlook: fine Nelson, Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate variable winds and fine weather; cloud increasing in the south: moderate temperatures. Outlook: partly | cloudy. Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds tending north-easterly about the coast; some areas of morning fog, otherwise partly cloudy with moderate temperatures. Outlook: partly cloudy.
