Sympathy with the rela tives of the former Minister of Agriculture (Mr Gillespiei and the chairman of the Local Government Commission (Mr A. A. McLachlan S.M.) was expressed by the City Council last evening. Or. p. J. Skellerup ias appointed by the City Counci last evening as a member of the Christchurch Metropolitan Milk Board in place of the late Cr. W. J Cowles Cr. W. S. Mac Gibbon was appointed to the directorate of the Christchurch Milk Company. Ltd Wing Commander S. M Hope. of Carterton, the officer commanding Flyins Training Wing at Wigram will attend a six months' air warfare course at the Roval Air Force Flying College Manby.
