Red Cross’s Work
<5'.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 11. The international and national work, the humanity and the power of the Red Cross was emphasised by a panel of speakers at the opening this morning of the annual council meeting of the New Zealand Junior Red Cross.
Her Excellency. Lady Cobham, opened the meeting and addresses were given bv the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake), the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Nash), the president of the New Zealand Red Cross Society (Sir Alexander Gillies), the chairman of the New Zealand Junior Red Cross (Miss M. Magill), the representative of the Dominion executive (Mr R A. Watson) and the recently retired secretary-genera! of the New Zealand Red Cross Society (Mr M. S. Galloway).
