15.2 p.c. Rise In Year (NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 10. Travel receipts for the year ended March 31, 1961, totalled £3.759.000, the Tourist and Publicity Department announced. This represents an increase of 15.2 per cent over the previous year. Travel payments for the same period totalled £ 13.9 m compared with £9.6m in the previous year. This is a 44.8 per cent, increase. The increase in travel pay- ' ments is partly attributable ! to the July, 1960. increase in : the allowance for pleasure travel from £750 to £1250. 1 says the department In April this increase of ' £5OO was reduced to £250 and is available to those who have not received an allow- ; ance for pleasure travel during the previous five years.
