NEW SHIPPING SERVICE

Direct Europe-N.Z. Link

A new direct Europe-New Zealand shipping service, which will save seven to 10 days, has been started by two Dutch shipping lines. They are the Nederland-Royal Dutch Mail Line and the Roval Rotterdam Line. The Friesland. 8304 tons, which will be the first vessel on the new service to call at Lyttelton, will arrive next Monday. The ships will. Some from Hamburg, Bremen, Antwerp. Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Le Havre by way of Panama to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin with occasional calls at other ports. The Friesland will be followed by the Balong on June 10. the Matram on July 10, and the Karimata on August 10.

The new service was announced by the Lyttelton agents, A. R. Guthrey and Company. Ltd., yesterday.
