Communist Rebels Killed

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) RANGOON, May 9. The chairman of the Burmese Communist Party politburo, a man called Mukerjee, was reported to have been killed by a police patrol yesterday, according to the British United Press. Mukerjee, with a dead-or-alive reward of £3500 on his head, is believed to have been killed with four other Communist rebels near Paungde, 120 miles north of Rangoon. Two others killed were Min Din, a divisional organiser, and Myo Ant, a district organiser, for whom the Government had offered £2OO reward, said B.U.P. Police cut off the rebels' heads as proof.
