NEW FURNACE IN CHAMBERS

Persons attending meetings in the Provincial Council Chambers in winter should no longer have any complaints about the cold. A new furnace has just been installed and the hotwater pipes, which run just beneath a grille set in the floor of the chamber, have been replaced. The old furnace and pipes were installed when the chambers were built about 1850. The new furnace will be automatic—only the hopper will have to be filled once or twice a day. The asbestos lagging around the furnace has yet to be completed.
