GUILTY OF RAPE

Seven Youths For Sentence

(K-.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. May 9. After a retirement of one hour a jury in the Supreme Court at Hamilton this even, ing found seven youths guilty of committing rape against a 16-year-old girl at Kinleith on the night of March 28 last. All the youths, who are mill hands at Kinleith, had pleaded not guilty. The youths are Isaac Atutahi, aged 20. Harding Leef, 19. John Morris. 13 Benjamin Nicholas. 18. Pere Paul, 17, Norman Rapana. 20, and Hector Samuels, 19. The jury made recommendations for leniency for all the accused except Leef. Mr Justice Boys, who presided. remanded all accused in custody for sentence until Friday week.
