COMMERCIAL Nat. Insurance Shares Again Firmer
National Insurance shares rose further yesterday to sell at 24s 6d in Dunedin, though they were steady at 24s 3d in Auckland and Wellington. Two weeks ago, when the shares were cum dividend of 3d, they sold as low as 245. National Electrical rose to 19s in Auckland, a rise of Is since April 28. The volume of trading yesterday was moderate and prices were mainly steady. Newton King preference, Fletcher convertible debentures, and K.P. Drugs were also firmer. Mosgiel, Forest Products and William Cable were sold at lower prices. Of the Australian issues traded, Ampol, Factors and G. J. Coles rights were cheaper and Felt and Textiles, Cox Bros., Colonial Sugar and Woolworths convertible notes were firmer.
