Prices Generally Unchanged

The competition throughout the first day of the new series of Melbourne wool sales was buoyant today. Wool prices were generally unchanged for all descriptions compared with last week’s improved levels. Japan dominated the sale with good support from the Continent and local mills. Crossbred prices were:— good 56's, 72d; good 50's, 70d.

Brisbane Sale Values at Brisbane wool sales today—the opening of the current sale—were the best for two years. There was exceptionally

strong competition from Japan and Eastern Europe, with good support from the Continent and United Kingdom.
