Odhams Press Profit Up

LONDON. May 8.

A big rise in profits has been announced by Odhams Press—recently taken over by the Daily Mirror Group. Group profit to December 31, after tax is up by £708,000 to £2,259.669. Dividends totalling 371 per cent, have been announced For 1959 they were 17J per cent.

Truth (N.Z.). Recommended final dividends are 9 per cent, ordinary (making 12 per cent, for the year), and 3| per cent, participating preference (6 per cent, for the yeor). Total annual dividends on ordinary and participating preference shares are unchanged.—(P.A.) Gippsland Ace. Meeting.— The National Trustees Executors and Agency Company of Australasia. Ltd., has called a meeting of noteholders of Gippsland Acceptance Ltd., for May 19. Gippsland Ac-ceptaij-ce is preparing a scheme of arrangement for submission to the Court by Friday. Mutual Ace. Profit.—Profit of £297.519 before tax reported by the Mutual Acceptance Company. Ltd., for the December half-year compares with £651.414 for the previous full year.
