WELLINGTON, May 7. World Red Cross Day will be observed throughout the world tomorrow and in keeping with the Red Cross Society’s international character the theme for tomorrow’s observance will be: “Red Cross helps across the street, across the nation, and across the world." This theme is particularly appropriate for the New ZeaJ»nd Red Cross for never before in peace time has the been as active as it iS today. In the last year alone it contributed more than £134,000 in goods and cash for the purpose of international relief and here in New Zealand the society continued and expanded its work among the sick, the aged, and the destitute.
