GRAND PRIX AT ARDMORE
Decision Opposed Bv C.A.A.
(NZ. Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 3. The New Zealand Grand Prix will be held again at Ardmore next year on January 6. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) has directed the Civil Aviation Administration make the airfield circuit available for the event. The decision brings to a head months of negotiation since Ardmore became the main civil flying field for Auckland after construction began on the new international airport at Mangere. The president of New Zealand International Grand Prix, Mr W. H. Knox, said in Wellington today that the Prime Minister’s direction had been given in the face' of determined opposition from the Civil Aviation Administration.
