Alleged Communist Affiliations Denied
(N.Z Press Association) GREYMOUTH, May 3. Allegations made recently in the newspapers, and in the district, of communist associations. were the subject of discussion at a meeting of the Brunner Women’s Progress Committee today. In spite of the fact that al! members agreed that the committee had no communist affiliations, several of the members felt they could not continue, and after a vote of 6-5, the committee was disbanded. The secretary, Mrs L Green, of Brunner, said the committee was initially formed to take an interest in the problems of the district, and to help where possible. A letter of appreciation was received from the Inangahua Progress League on the formation of the committee The members who voted for the retention of the committee, hope to start again with new members.
