IMPROVEMENTS IN SUMNER
Residents Give £279 To Fund
Sumner residents wanting to see improvements in their district have given £279 to the fund for the beautification of Sumner, started by the Sumner Residents’ Association in February. This was said at the annual meeting of the association last evening by the president (Mr D. H. Wilson). On a motion by Mr A. L. B. Ross, £l5 15s 2d was transferred to the fund from the association’s Coronation fund. President for the last two years, Mr Wilson declined nomination for re-election. He was replaced by Mr Ross. Other officers elected were: Vice-presidents, Mrs M. A. Brandt and Mr J. McNab; secretary, Mr E. Brooks; treasurer, Mr R. W. B. Gale; committee: Messrs W. Baguley, T. H. Williams, J. H. Higgins, B. Pye, B. Hansen, J. Stewart, and B. Walker.
