Algiers Mayors Suspended

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ALGIERS, May 3. Seventeen mayors in the Algiers district have been suspended by French Government officials investigating last week’s insurrection, it was announced late last night. At the same time 27 Algiers City officials were also suspended, the British United Press reported. Although there are no official figures, about 200 French Army officers are reported to be under arrest, as well as about 160 civilian officials.
