INVITATIONS TO DINNER
Prime Minister Hoaxed
(NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 3. Some prankster has invited a number of Wellington neople to dinner with the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) and Mrs Holyoake at their official Pipltea street residence next Monday night. Mrs Holyoake has had several telephone calls from “guests” over the last few days, asking if they are to wear formal dress to the dinner. The Prime Minister said today he did not know who sent out the invitations, which were reproductions of official Government-printed invitations. “Although we enjoy having guests. I am afraid we had no plans to entertain at dinner next Monday,” Mr Holyoake said. “If we allowed the prank to proceed, there might be considerable embarrassment and inconvenience. “But if the prankster or pranksters would like to call on us, we would be happy to meet them, and perhaps arrange to entertain them on some future occasion,” he said.
