Conference At Week-End

Because of illness the Bishop of Waikato (the Rt Rev. J. T. Holland) will not be able to give the addresses on Sunday at the annual conference and congress of the Church of England Men’s Society to onen in Christchurch on Saturday. The two addresses will be given on Sunday by the Rev. F. C. Harrison, of All Saints’ Church. Dunedin, and these will be public meetings for men.

The conference will be held at' St. Saviour’s Church. Sydenham, and the chairman will be the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K Warren). Bishop Warren will celebrate the Communion in St. Saviour’s Church on Sunday morning and this will be followed by the conference breakfast in the parish hall. The Bishop of Dunedin (the Rt. Rev. A. H. Johnston) will be the preacher at the Festal Evensong which will close the conference.

About 150 delegates from branches throughout New Zealand are expected to attend the conference.
