CATHEDRAL SANCTUARY

Panelling Fund Gift

A resolution authorising £350 to be given to the Christchurch Cathedral Chapter for the beautification of the font and the lighting of beams in the cathedral, was rescinded at a recent special meeting of the Friends of the Christchurch Cathedral Association. The association decided unanimously to ask the chapter to divert the balance of this fond to the sanctuary panelling fund, A further sum of £l5O will be paid from the association to the fund. To assist in the cost of panelling the sanctuary, the association had already authorised the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K Warren) to launch an appeal to members.

This appeal has brought in the sum of £762 19s in donations.
