SHOW TABLES

Objection From Breeders An objection to the method of stabling cattle at the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s annual show was received from the Canterbury Ayrshire Cattle Breeders’ Club at the meeting of the association’s general committee yesterday. In his letter, the secretary of the breeders’ club (Mr A. C. Lambie) said that the present situation was particularly dangerous to attendants, especially those handling bulls and other horned animals. It also created a great deal of added work because animals were soiled by rubbing or excreting against one another. "Some members intimated that unless some sort of partition is erected between the animals, they will seriously consider ceasing to be exhibitors at your show,” said the letter. It was a big task for attendants to look after the cattle, and something would

have to be done, said Mr F. E. Martin. It was a constant job to keep the cattle clean, and pipe railings might have, to be erected. The letter was referred to the cattle committee. The secretary (Mr H. McC. Studholme)- gave the meeting a detailed report of his recent visit to the Sydney Show.
