Macquarie is making for t Napier at all speed with a I critically injured seaman 5 aboard. t The Napier Harbour Board t and Napier Public Hospital were alerted this afternoon and will be in readiness for r the ship—due at 11.30 p.m. . today—to arrive. s The man, whose identity is not yet known, is reported ' to have a fractured spine and a fractured leg. It is thought that he will need blood trans- . fusions urgently when he arrives. The Port Macquarie sailed 1 from Wellington, bound for e Dunkirk, last Thursday. It ■ is assumed that the seaman was injured on Saturday, and that the ship put back for l Napier—the nearest port—- : soon afterwards.
