Wenoma Girl, Sky High (ttZ. Press Anoctatum) SYDNEY, April 3. The owner of Wenoma Girl, Australia’s outstanding three-year-old filly, has refused an “open cheque” otter from a United States studmaster. The owner at Sky High, Australia’s best three-year-old colt, has refused EA35.870. The owners, Mr W. Longworth (Wenoma Girl) and Mr B. H. Crowley (Sky High) told reporters at their refusals to sell after the Randwick races. Mr Longworth is chairman of the Sydney Turf Club and Mr Crowley is a member of the committee of the Australian Jockey Club. Both owners emphasised that they were not willing to sell “at any price.” “I will never sell Wenoma Girl to race outside Australia. My family and I get too much pleasure out of watching her race,” Mr Longworth said. He had refused an attractive offer from France, he said. Mr K. Godby who raced Wiggle and sold her for a reported £A31,000 last year in the United States, added: “What I got for Wiggle was only ‘peanuts’ to what they will offer for Wenoma GirL”
