SOUTH AFRICAN DELEGATION
Visit To City Next Month A South African trade delegation which is spending a week in New Zealand will visit Christchurch from May 11 to 13. Arrangements for interested businessmen to meet the delegation are being made. The delegation consists of Dr. Frans J. du Toit, who is chairman of the South African Coal, Oil and Gas Corporation, Ltd, and the Phosphate Development Corporation; Mr I. G. Fleming, former president of the South African Federated Chamber of Industries; Mr F. W. Waring, a former member of Parliament, who is associated with grain and produce brokers and import and export agencies. They will be accompanied by Mr E. D. Andrews, director of export promotion with the Department of Industries and Comemrce. The delegation is seeking ways of increasing two-way trade and members are anxious to explain the opportunities available for outside investors to take part in South Africa’s economic development and the possibility of attracting industries.
