COPPER SUPPLIES REDUCED

World copper consumption has so far shown no apparent signs of improvement, but the March figures should give a better idea of whether renewed business confidence has had any effect, said the "Financial Times” today. Supply prospects provide a better reason for a firmer market, it said. The last two months’ figures have shown that the mining companies’ announced cutbacks are taking effect progressively and reducing copper output further each month.”
