RICCARTON INQUIRIES

Apprentice riders were not available for all the runners in the Wigram Handicap at Riccarton yesterday. N. Eastwood and R. J. Skelton were given permission to ride Fair Polly and Pictavia Girl, carrying the required penalty of 101 b.

B. E. Craig, the rider of Bailiff, had to check his mount near the half-mile in the Kildare Hurdles to avoid the heels of Rushmoor, which was weakening badly.

When the inside horses jumped from the stalls at the six furlong start in the Autumn Nursery, Bridie O’Cally (C. McDonald) was squeezed out and lost ground. The incident was accidental.
