Hewitt has been a tower B of strength for Malvern in B its country Browning Shield E matches in recent seasons, - and his occasional appeard ances at Wilding Park have r confirmed his great ability, t One of his best efforts was - in the Canterbury champione ships in 1957, when he elimr inated the top-seeded A. L. s Blackwell from the men’s e singles. is Relying mainly on his > steady game, Hewitt is also d noted for his recoveries from s- smashes. In the recent c Town-Country fixture he rel- turned some of Thom’s best e overheads. Hewitt is also an d accomplished table tennis il player, and has played for i- Country against Town in this sport
