TURNOVER £204,000
Totalisator investments on and off-course on the first day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting yesterday were £204.518 ss, an increase of £606 10s on the corresponding day last year. On-course the totalisato handled £104318, a drop of £8303 10s on last year. But off-course betting increased from £90,690 5s to £99,600 ss. Doubles betting yesterday amounted to £60,928 15s, and off-course investments accounted for £47,865 15s. Fairassan, winner of the first leg, the Great Easter Handicap, carried £12,456 5s on the double. Navarro carried 10,728 5s tickets of a total of 49,821 on the second leg. The combination returned £lB 15s 6d for £l.
