The visit was being greeted as a considerable diplomatic victory for President de Gaulle and a sign of President Kennedy’s respect for France’s World War II hero Official sources said that by the reported date of the Paris vsit. Mr Kennedy would have talked to the British Prime Minister. Mr Macmillan, and to the West German Chancellor. Dr Adenauer.
