Newmarket Not Starting
Newmarket will not run in the Great Easter Handicap today. There is nothing wrong with him, but his Riccarton trainer, J. S. Shaw, has been unsuccessful in getting a suitable light-weight rider. The Shaw stable also had Matauwhi and Stradbroke in the Great Easter, but only one of them is expected to start, and the Riccarton apprentice, M. J. Skelton, will be the rider.
