Table Tennis WORLD TITLES IN PEKING
Preparations For Championships (N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) PS3XING, April 1. Workers are putting the final touches to the new Peking workers’ gymnasium today as early-arriving competitors practise for the world table tennis championships which open on Tuesday. About half of the expected 31 nations have already reached Peking with more arriving throughout the week-end. Australian and New Zealand teams will arrive today and the British party are expected tomorrow after a flight via Moscow. Regular training sessions are being held for competitors today. While the players practise workers are still installing furniture and other equipment in the specially-erected stadium which is part of the multisports centre in Peking. Chinese and Japanese players are expected to dominate the championships.
