Fendalton Road Flats

Sir,- —Supporters of the proposed flats at 43 Fendalton road have argued that there are already four blocks in the immediate vicinity and why should another larger block be refused? Have not they provided their own answer? Surely there must be a limit to the number of such blocks permitted in so small an area. And what of the future? Will this be a desirable residential section of the city in 30 or 40 years, or will it have deteriorated into a second-rate "flats to let” area? It will still be the main approach to Christchurch from an even larger (we hope* airport. What will the visitors of the future find on this section of the road?—Yours, etc., STILL OBJECTING.
