He was very strongly of the view that the legislation was drafted and enacted by Parliament with the intention that workers should be protected from the wrongful stoppage of compensation payments and the consequent difficult situation they were placed in. said Judge Dalglish in the Compensation Court on Thursday He was giving judgment for Hazel Winifred Ford, a married woman, who claimed compensation against Hotel Templeton. Ltd., for loss pf earnings after injuries to her elbow when it was struck by a swing door while she was employed as a s cook at the hotel. Ford (Mr B. A. Barred was aw-arded a lump sum as compensation for loss of wages. The Court held that the indemnifiers of the defendant company (Mr C. B Atkinson) had wrongly stopped compensation payments to Ford, and awarded her a further sum as double compensation.
