Actress From Christchurch
Miss Angela MeKee, a talented young actress who has played important roles in productions by Phoenix Theatre, the Canterbury Repertory Theatre Society, Theatre Arts Guild, and has toured professionally with the New Zealand Players and Southern Comedy Players, was bidden farewell recently by a large gathering of Phoenix members at a party at the home of Miss Diana Evans-Roberts. Miss McKee left Auckland this week on the Caste! Felice for London where she will join her fiance, Mr R. Chaudoin. A presentation was made by the president of Phoenix Theatre (Mr Alan de Malmanche) on behalf of the group, and speeches and greetings from former fellow, members present were recorded by Mr Graeme Clephane to be sent to Mr Chaudoin. Mr Chaudoin was a popular member of Phoenix Theatre and hia skill as at set designer was invaluable when he was stationed in Christchurch for three years at the United States Antarctic headquarters. Harewood. He left Christchurch in February last year and since returning to Washington has been posted for four years to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers in Europe in Paris The wedding wifi take place in Paris in June. bellow • passanfers td Europe with Miss McKee on the Cartel Felice are Mr and Mrs Frank Newman and family. For seven years until last December Mr Newman was the orotessional producer for the Canterbury Repertory Theatre Society.
