. The sharemarket closed for the Easter recess on an nn» certain note. A moderate volume of business was recorded. Standard Inmrance sold at 23s to 23s 7d in Christchurch, and elsewhere at prices ranging from 21s to 245. Canterbury Frozen Meat, N.Z. Refrigerating, 8.H.P., Email, Humes N2. preference, Waltons and William Cable sold in Christchurch at lower prices than in most recent New Zealand business. Apart from Standard Insurance, L. J. Hooker was the only share to improve in local business.
