MINOR FIRES
Three minor flres were answered by machines from the Central and suburban fire stations yesterday and on Thursday. At 5.25 p.m.. on Thursday a unit from St. Albans was called to an oven fire in premises owned by Mr P. Manuel, 44 Morrison avenue. Papanui. Slight damage was caused to the oven. A unit from Sydenham was called to~ extinguish a fire on a motor-scooter owned by Miss R. M. Seymour at 40 Dalkeith street, Sydenham, at 7.15 pm. on Thursday. The fire was put out by carbon dioxide extinguishers, with slight damage to paint and fittings on the machine. Slight damage to a boundary fence was caused by a grass fire which brake out in the yard of a house at 194 Springs road at 4.6 pan. yesterday. A unit from Sockburn extinguished the blaze. The owners of the property were absent.
