HIGH JUMP RECORDS AT G.H.S. SPORTS
A jump of sft 2in by L. Curtis in the senior high jump broke the old record by three inches at the Christchurch Girls’ High School sports at Rugby Park yesterday. Miss Curtis, who is 16. has jumped sft 3in in the past. She also won the senior championship when’ she won the long jump and was placed in the 80 metres hurdles, the 75 yards and 100 yards races. In the under 14 high jump the first three place-getters all broke the existing record of 4ft 4in. Another performance of note was recorded by P. Mason, who ran the open 220 yards in the record-breaking time of 27.8. Results:— Senior Championship. L. Curtis, 11 points, 1; P. Mason, 10, 2; H. Hutton, 5, 3. Intermediate Championship.— D.
