“ALLERGIC TO WORK”

Leave To Appeal Refused

Leave to appeal ■ against a sentence of two years’ imprisonment on one charge of being a rogue and a vagabond and on three charges of sending false telephone messages was refused Roy Collin Tucker, aged 32, by Mr Justice Richmond in the Supreme Court yesterday. Tucker was not represented by counsel. The appellant, had been living off society for 10 years and appeared to be allergic to work, said Mr C. M. Roper, who appeared for the Crown.

“You are making fair progress towards preventive detention and you have reached a stage where the Courts are going to get more and more severe with you each time you appear,” said his Honour. “The sentence was thoroughly warranted when your record is considered.”
