Inter-School Athletics
Sir.—The authorities controlling the inter-secondary schools athletic sports have now discarded the picnie atmosphere of the last two years in favour of more organised competition. : Some years ago points were abandoned and since then up to a dozen or more schools in multi-hued jerseys have competed in a colourful free-for-all with no-one very much the wiser as to the general outcome. Surely now with the new system of prior eliminations to the best six schools in each event, there can be no valid acceptable reason for not reinstating the points system that worked to the general enjoyment of all so well in the past.—Yours, etc.,
