He is joining the Fletcher organisation as a director of the Fletcher Trust and Investment Company, Ltd., in charge of pulp and paper interests. Massey-Ferguson (Aust.). Massey - Ferguson Holdings (Aust.), Ltd., lifted sales 23 per cent, to £2.365.000 in the first quarter of its financial year to January 31. Compared with the same period of 1939-60. net income for the quarter was up from £98.000 to £126.000. after estimated tax of £96.000. compared with £65.000 previously. In the year to October 31. sales by the group totalled £15.145.245. and profit was £1.005.943. after £740.060 for tax—N.Z.P.A. West Coast Dredges’ Two Weeks’ Return (N.Z. Press Association) GREYMOUTH. March 17. The West Coast’s two gold dredges—Arahura and Kanieri have produced 25,2980 z of gold this financial year with only two weeks to go to the end of the year Last financial year the dredges, both units of Gold Mines of New Zealand. Ltd., netted 32,5000 z. During the first two weeks of this month the dredges had a combined return of 1048 oz. Best working went to Arahura which recovered 5280 z from 129.000 yards in 241 working hours. Kanieri returned 5200 z from 164,000 yard* in 340 hours.
